The Perfect Fall OutfitHelmut Lang long sleeve top, $450 / Dolce & Gabbana skinny fit jeans, $455 / Gianmarco Lorenzi genuine leather boots, $1,020 / ChloƩ shoulder bag, $2,330 / Jayce Wong rutilated quartz jewelry, $580 / Yves St Laurent round earrings, $250 / Stella McCartney brimmed hat, $260 All items available at Farfetch.com and other fine retailers. The fall season can't seem to come fast enough. Fuzzy sweaters, wool hats, and boots...It just makes everything feel so cozy. Even if you can't get a whole new wardrobe, perhaps you can find inspiration here from the pieces in my perfect fall outfit... Black boots - This is the very first thing I shop for when fall rolls around. As I've mentioned before, a pair of boots is the one thing you should probably not go without during the fall and winter. You can never go wrong with a pair of jeans and black knee-high boots. I am absolutely in love with the Gianmarco Lorenzi boots with the rounded toe and the buckle at the top. By the way, Gianmarco Lorenzi is fast becoming a favorite on my list of shoe designers to look out for when shopping for stilettos. He has proclaimed to make the best heel in the world, and I wouldn't argue too much with that. Buy Gianmarco Lorenzi at Farfetch.com. Cardigan sweater - A cardigan sweater can be worn with a long skirt, jeans, leggings, and just about anything. Wear it over a tank top for a casual look or with a long sleeve button up blouse with a belt over it for work. I love the asymmetrical look of the Helmut Lang sweater in my perfect fall outfit I put together pictured above. If a cardigan isn't quite your style, perhaps you'll find inspiration from the sweater girl look. Fitted jeans - Whether it's skinny jeans, flared jeans, or boot leg jeans, it's just nice to have a pair that fit you perfectly, especially in the bum area. Sometimes you have to try on 20 pairs before you find the perfect fit, but it's so worth it, right? Black tote bag - A tote bag is perfect to throw in your iPad or notebook, makeup bag, and all the other essentials to get through the day. But you can't just buy any black tote bag. Invest in a timeless, quality piece that gives you a polished look. Hat - You may not believe that you look good in hats, but maybe it's just that you haven't found the right hat for you. Wearing a hat is like the cherry on top of a sundae - it just makes a fall outfit complete. ====================== Make sure to subscribe via RSS or follow Beauty Is Within on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated! A Dream Rekindled: Visual Merchandising![]() When the fall season comes, I often think about my days working at Contempo Casuals and Wet Seal as a store manager, and how I looked forward to working on the visual merchandising and window displays. I absolutely love the fall season and putting together cute layered outfits with boots, hats, scarves, and the whole nine. I don't know how it is now at Wet Seal, but back in the day they didn't have a position dedicated solely to visual merchandising, so the managers had to take care of everything from moving fixtures around, changing sign holders retail and displays, and redressing mannequins in the windows. I think I've mentioned this before, but if I ever were to go back to working in retail, the only position I would take is one in visual merchandising. I used to dream of going to New York and being like Jack in that old Will & Grace episode where he gets the opportunity to put together a Barneys window display during the holidays. A long time ago I went to FIDM here in San Diego to see if I could get into their program to become a visual merchandiser, but when I found out the tuition, I decided that maybe I would go a different route. After all, at the time I already had almost 10 years of experience in retail merchandising. So it's only natural that I would have a slight obsession with taking pictures of window displays whenever I go to shopping. Last fall I was in heaven oohing and ahhing over the Topshop in Chicago... ![]() I can't remember what store this is from, but I love the simplicity of this window display with the neutral colors and butterflies... ![]() I would love to put together a colorful display like this in Anthropologie... ![]() Although I'm into blogging and writing now, I still do have that dream of being able to put together a few window displays every now and then just to be doing something different. Do you have any favorite fall window displays? ====================== Make sure to subscribe via RSS or follow Beauty Is Within on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated! Catching Up on New York Fashion Week![]() As I was pinning stuff to my Love Fall Fashion board on Pinterest, I realized, Oh, yeah, there is this thing called New York Fashion Week that's happening right now. So with a bowl of popcorn and my favorite fruit juice by my side, I browsed through the fashion feeds to live vicariously through my favorite fashion bloggers who have been enjoying the festivities in the fashion capital. Then I got tired of reading and then remembered that we live in 2012 where you can actually watch the runway shows on YouTube. Who needs front row seats, right? The first show I watched was Thakoon's because I read that he had one of the prettiest spring collections so far. The first few pieces I liked, but there were quite a few that were not my style. My favorite is the very first dress in the show... ![]() Because I love pencil dresses, hats, and solid colors - especially black and white - Victoria Beckham's spring 2013 collection appealed to my "posh" side. I have to give a hat tip to the singer-turned-designer...Love, love, love the pencil dresses! ![]() I always look forward to Diane Von Furstenberg's shows because she's one of the few designers who feature models from different races. Of course, her designs are unique as well. I love the bright colors and the retro/mod vibe of this spring collection... ![]() What are your favorite collections for spring 2013? Now that we have a few things to look forward to, let's get back to my favorite season for fashion...fall! ====================== Make sure to subscribe via RSS or follow Beauty Is Within on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated! The Natural Beauty's Guide to Fall BeautyWhether it's organizing the beauty products you currently have or searching for new products to redo your regimen, the changing of seasons is a great time to give your beauty routine an overhaul. So, what should you consider to upgrade your fall beauty looks? Check out my fall beauty guide... Try a new nail polish color - I'm all about trying something new, especially when the seasons change. Many of us transition into darker nail polish colors for the fall, and for us busy women Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure is perfect because you get 5 steps all in one: Base Coat, Strengthener, Growth Treatment, Color and Top Coat. What's I love about this nail polish is that it lasts more than a couple days, unlike many polishes I use. Lately I've been into different nail art, so recreated my version of this geometric manicure using Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Boca Mocha and Simply Divine, plus Maybelline's Express Finish nail polish in Beige Glace. Eye Makeup Remover - During the fall I tend to wear more makeup than the spring and summer seasons, so a good eye makeup remover is a must-have. I like Paula's Choice Gentle Touch makeup remover because it removes waterproof mascara very easily and it doesn't irritate my eyes. Simply Vera - Sometimes you just need to get rid of that old makeup that's been sitting there accumulating bacteria and other nastiness. I highly recommend checking out Vera Wang's new line of cosmetics, Simply Vera (available at Kohl's), which is perfect for those of you who like a natural look. I love everything from this line - especially the illuminating pressed powder (#303) and illuminating powder blush (#316). The powder is more like a powder/bronzer for me, and offers pretty good coverage with a little shimmer. Vitamin C Moisturizer - The skin on your face tends to get dry when the weather cools down, so this is the time to stock up on moisturizer. Vitamin C helps with collagen production, which brightens and softens the skin. The Vitamin C moisturizer by Made from Earth has a very creamy texture which glides very easily on the skin. If you have oily skin like me, then you should only use it a few times a week. If you have normal or dry skin you can use it every day. Maijan Moroccan Organic Argan Oil - Of all the beauty products, this would be my must-have for fall. You can use it for your hair, scalp, and anywhere on your body that needs a little TLC. It's infused with Omega-6, antioxidants, and Vitamin E, plus it penetrates the skin quickly. I like to use it on my feet to keep them soft and prevent dry, cracked heels. Shielo Moisturizing Shampoo & Vibrancy Conditioner - Once again, it's all about hydration for the fall, and Shielo delivers just that with these products. It's good to change up your hair products every once in awhile to liven up your hair. I love that Shielo's Hydrate line is sulfate-free, contains organic extracts, and leaves my hair silky soft. I still have yet to see any split ends while using this shampoo and conditioner. I'm definitely looking forward to fall and creating new beauty looks.
