My Secret to Getting Beauty Products For Less I have to admit that I'm pretty frugal when it comes to shopping for quality beauty supplies. I rarely buy anything at the salon or department store, and when I shop in stores like Target, I'll buy a product only if it's on sale. I just don't see why I should pay full retail price for stuff that I know I could get somewhere else much cheaper - like discount beauty supply stores. There are a couple mom-and-pop beauty supply shops that are close to where I live that carry everything from wigs, nail polish, to hair styling products and all kinds of makeup. Some recent bargains discovered include China Glaze nail polish for 99 cents and Kiss Eyelashes for $1.99. A friend of mine who lives in Chicago said that before Essie became really popular, she could buy Essie nail polish for $4.00 at a beauty supply shop, but the secret got out and they raised the price to $6.00, which is actually still a good deal considering a bottle of Essie usually costs $8. If you don't feel like schlepping around hunting for bargains in a beauty supply store, there are many stores online such as Image Beauty which offer tons of beauty products at a discount. Another place I like to find beauty bargains is Big Lots. Once in a while I'll find organic beauty products, Burt's Bees overstock products, or nail polish from Revlon. Of course, if you're really into natural beauty, you always have the option of creating your own homemade beauty products which can be much cheaper and more holistic than buying brand-name products. Fashion Games Now, Famous Designer of the Future When I was a little girl I loved dressing my Barbies and playing with those paper dolls just to change their outfits. I had more fun putting together outfits than actually playing with the Barbies. My mom even bought this Barbie closet for me to keep all the clothes organized. So It's no wonder I grew up wanting to work in the fashion industry. Although I got my degree in Psychology because I thought that was what I was supposed to do, I was still drawn to fashion and style. Although I know her mom has different aspirations for her, I already know that she's destined for fashion greatness. I think it's important to support our daughters or any young woman in what they love to do. Some may view working in the fashion industry as superficial or not contributing in any way to society, but we have to remember that each and every one of us wears clothing. Without the fashion industry, what would our society look like? Everyone walking around naked? That's boring.
