Beach Date Outfit and more... Beach Date Outfit Every once in awhile it's nice to take a break from the "normal" schedule and get to the beach and just watch the ocean...and the waves... I think it's good for the soul and spirit to be able to just stop and reflect on life. Recently, my fiance and I took a drive up to La Jolla Cove, which is real nice when it's not crowded. I considered it a "date", so I dressed up a little... It was actually a bit chilly that day, so the wool hat came in handy. My fiance was really diggin' the hat, so I ended up giving it to him. He swears that men can wear that style of hat too, and I have to admit he does look good in it! If you like the hat too, check out Womens-Hats.com, and use promo code "ScalaPronto" at checkout for 20% off and free ground shipping! (Ends 12/31/11) Rocawear jean jacket, Dollhouse boots, and Valentina Legwear I actually felt pretty sexy in this outfit even though I was wearing a casual dress that I absolutely love. Jersey material is so soft and comfortable. Shabby Apple has so many pretty dresses, by the way. My fiance and I enjoyed the BBQ chicken wings and chicken quesadilla during happy hour at The Spot in La Jolla. If you're ever in San Diego, Prospect Street in La Jolla is a great place to shop, eat, and soak up some beautiful San Diego weather :) ![]() ====================== Make sure to subscribe via RSS or follow Beauty Is Within on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated! Fall 2011 Fashion Window Displays in Las VegasLast weekend I took a trip to Las Vegas and was inspired by all the fun and colorful window displays in Crystals at City Center, a luxury shopping mall next to the Aria Hotel, and The Forum Shops next to Ceasars Hotel. Here are just a few of my favorites... I altered the colors in this picture of this Carolina Herrera window display to make it look artsy, but I like how it tells a story... ![]() What stands out for me in this Lanvin window below is the mannequin, actually. I do, however, admire Alber Elbaz's designs. I remember falling in love with the Spring 2008 Lanvin collection and deciding that when I make my first million that I would own one of those pieces. ![]() Anything purple always catches my eye, but even if this Tom Ford dress was not purple, I would still like this window display. It just oozes of luxury... ![]() This next picture is not so much a window display as it is a massive entrance to H&M at The Forum Shops. I was too afraid to even go in the store for fear of doing damage to the bank account... ![]() What types of window displays catch your eye? Beauty and Health Benefits of Fish Oil Ever since I wrote the article about winter skin care, I've been doing research on more natural ways to take care of your skin. At the moment my dry scalp is really bothering me and my hands and feet are beginning to look...dare I say...old. So I've been reading up on fish oil supplements and the beauty and health benefits of fish oil. Here is what I found out:
Not only does fish oil supplements have beauty benefits, it also has a variety of health benefits including treatment of heart diseases, high cholesterol, diabetes, arthritis, and depression, just to name a few. Another type of oil that many women swear by is cod liver oil. They say it's a great treatment for acne in addition to improving the overall quality, texture, and color of the skin. I heard that cod liver oil tastes pretty nasty, but you can find it in lemon flavor or even orange flavor. I've only taken fish oil supplements a few times, but after reading up on all the health and beauty benefits, I'm definitely going to make sure I include this as part of my daily beauty ritual. Wash my face, brush my teeth, and take fish oil! ====================== Make sure to subscribe via RSS or follow Beauty Is Within on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated! Maybe it's not in your budget to buy new holiday outfits, but you can enhance your beauty with a few new pieces of sparkly jewelry, right? As a jewelry designer, I understand the power that jewelry has in bringing out and expressing a woman's unique style and beauty. Here are a few ideas to inspire you when shopping for jewelry... To light up your face and bring attention to your cheeks, you can wear dangle earrings with Swarovski crystals or a pair of cubic zirconia earrings. I love to wear my hair up in a french bun to really show off these types of earrings. These dangle earrings are available in my Etsy shop... A big, bold, eye-catching cocktail ring can be a conversation starter or a way to show off those sparkly holiday nails. I like this "Flower Shower" gold ring from Lulus.com... ![]() If you wear body jewelry, you can add sparkle to your belly button, eyebrow, or those other areas of the body that you feel inclined to pierce. Freshtrends.com has a huge selection of body jewelry, including fun Christmas jewelry like this angel 14K gold plated dangle belly button ring. I'm sure the "arm party" trend will still be in full effect this holiday season, so feel free to pile on those sparkly bracelets. I'm actually going to be on the hunt for those glitter jelly bracelets I used to wear back in the 80's!
